Our society is in a state of change, which also affects the way we deal with death. The spiritual question of what comes after death is giving way to practical considerations, such as how we deal with our own mortality and what we want to leave behind.
The documentary explores the need for spirituality beyond traditional religious concepts. Experts in philosophy, social and cultural anthropology, and theology discuss how individualism, self-determination and digital self-representation are transforming our understanding of mortality and remembrance.
