Whether documentary or fiction: we make films that move audiences and open up broader social debate.

The feature-length documentary “Late Blossom Blues” tells the story of blues musician Leo “Bud” Welch, who launched his international career at the age of 81. “MABACHER – #unbroken” portrays radical inclusion activist Martin Habacher. Both films screened at international festivals, including the Hof International Film Festival, the Max Ophüls Prize, the Montreal World Film Festival, Crossing Europe, Diagonale, and Ethnocineca. Further feature film projects are in development.

Over 40 documentaries, sold to more than 30 broadcasters and partners worldwide, including NHK Japan, Al Jazeera, ZDF, France Télévisions, RAI, SVT, DR, YLE, SRF, Deutsche Welle, and RTVE. Productions such as “Sleep” (Der Schlaf), “Dying 2.0” (Sterben 2.0), “Beyond Binaries”, and “Everything in Order?!” (Alles in Ordnung?!) air from Tokyo to Mexico City. Awarded, among others, at Cannes (Silver Award), the New York Festivals, the Austrian Documentary Award, and the “von unten” Journalism Award.

Stefan Wolner began his career at ORF (Austrian Broadcasting Corporation) and has worked as a director and producer ever since. With Red Monster Film, he produces his own projects as well as films by other writers. Scripts and ideas are always welcome.

Together with journalist Hannah Wahl and filmmaker Conny Ohnmacht, Wolner initiated the MABACHER AWARD, the first Austrian film award for inclusion, part of the Diagonale film festival since 2026.
