54th Adult Education Television Awards

NOMINATED for the 54th Adult Education Television Awards

Vienna (OTS) – On March 15, 2022, a total of 18 television contributions were nominated for the 54th Adult Education Television Awards.

The award is presented by the ten associations of the Conference of Adult Education (KEBÖ), which include the following organizations: the Association of Austrian Educational Institutions, the Vocational Training Institute of Austria, the Austrian Library Association, the Forum for Catholic Adult Education in Austria, the Rural Training Institute of Austria, the Ring of Austrian Educational Organizations, the Austrian Economic Society, the Association of Austrian Union Education, the Austrian Association of Adult Education Centers, and the Institute for Economic Promotion of the Austrian Economic Chamber.

In the category of discussion shows and talk formats, the following productions were nominated:

  • Wassermair sucht den Notausgang by Martin Wassermair, a Dorf TV series
  • ‘kreuz und quer gedacht‘ from Admont Abbey – ‘Justice’ by Helmut Tatzreiter and Irene Klissenbauer, hosted by Stefan Haider from the ORF series kreuz und quer
  • Speisen wie die Götter – Ein himmlisches Kochduell by Florian Gebauer and Jennifer Rezny, also from the ORF series kreuz und quer

In the category of documentary, the following contributions were nominated:

  • Climate Walk – Soil Sealing by Anna Schreinlechner and Katharina Rössel from the Okto TV series Climate Walk
  • Fukushima – The Endless Catastrophe by Judith Brandner from the ORF series Weltjournal
  • Two Am Schauplatz contributions from ORF: Die letzte Schicht by Kim Kadlec and Ein Land, zwei Welten – A Report Between Intensive Care Unit and Anti-Corona Party by Emanuel Liedl
  • Dying 2.0 – The New Approach to Death by Stefan Wolner, a dok.film contribution
  • H.C. Artmann – The Buccaneer of Language by Gustav W. Trampitsch, a contribution from the ORF series kulturMontag

In the category of television film, including series, fiction, docu-fiction, and edutainment, the following were nominated:

  • Feed the Troll by Klara Rabl (text and direction), co-produced by Okto
  • Die Lederhosenaffäre, a city comedy by Markus Engel (direction), Harald Haller and Marc Brugger (screenplay), and Susanne Spellitz (ORF editing)
  • Flammenmädchen by Catalina Molina (screenplay and direction), Sarah Wassermair (screenplay), and Klaus Lintschinger (ORF editing)
  • Faltenfrei by Dirk Kummer (direction), Uli Breé (screenplay), and Klaus Lintschinger (ORF editing)

In the category of program formats, the following series were nominated:

  • ECO, Feierabend, and Konkret in die Zukunft from ORF
  • The two-parter zeit.geschichte – Hitler’s Austrian Helpers – The Gauleiters of Ostmark from ORF III, and #Europa4me from Okto TV

The decision on the awarding of the 54th Adult Education Television Awards for 2021 will be made by a jury on April 20, 2022. The jury will also select all the prize winners and present the Axel Corti Prize for 2022.
